State Level Advocacy

UUDAN was founded on June 10, 2016. Our Leadership Team includes active representation from all five Delaware UU congregations. During the formation process, UUDAN benefitted from expert consultation provided by the national Coalition of UU State Advocacy Networks (CUUSAN).

The initial UU State Action Networks  which were formed more than a decade ago, were organizations of UU congregations. Based on this structure, they needed to build a consensus of the participating congregations before taking a position. This structure was often too cumbersome for effective action. As a result, UUDAN has been formed as an organization of individuals. UUDAN is affiliated with all five Delaware UU congregations.

UUDAN is not incorporated as a separate organization, but has been established as a program of the First Unitarian Church of Wilmington.
